Description: The talk Multilingual University Classrooms in Health Sciences as Opposed to Humanities and Social Sciences CLIL/EMI Practices, held at the Institute for Advanced Studies in the Humanities (IASH) at the University of Edinburgh, was given by professors Begoña Bellés-Fortuño (Jaume I University) and Lucía Bellés-Calvera (University of Valencia / IULMA).
The aim of the session was to present research focused on the analysis of academic discourse in multilingual university classrooms in the field of Health Sciences. Through an interdisciplinary approach, issues related to the use of English as a vehicle for instruction, the development of communication skills in specialized contexts, and the interaction between teachers and students in multilingual environments were addressed.
The activity was aimed at researchers, teachers, and students interested in applied linguistics, higher education, and the internationalization of university teaching.
