SPARK is a research group dedicated to the study and advancement of Languages for Specific Purposes (LSP) in multidisciplinary and professional contexts in Higher Education. SPARK aims to be at the leading edge of digital technologies and other innovative tools, as well as emerging policies in Functional Diversity, Gender equity and Multilingualism in applied fields (Social Sciences, Health Sciences, Engineering, and Humanities).

The group’s dynamic approach intersects language, profession, and pedagogy through qualitative and quantitative methodologies, examining how languages operate as a tool for knowledge dissemination, professional development, and social transformation.

With a strong commitment to interdisciplinarity, inclusivity, social impact, and gender awareness, SPARK fosters collaboration among researchers, educators, and professionals. We aim to contribute to curricular innovation, language policy, materials development, and the creation of best practices tailored to specific academic and professional communities.
